Join PRSA Hawaii for a discussion with key members of local news media on the "Changing Media Landscape in Hawaii." A panel of three of Hawaii's most distinguished media practitioners will discuss, among other topics:
  • What’s ahead for the media industry in Hawaii, from a local, national and global prospective.
  • How the seismic changes in media are impacting the way public relations professionals do their work.
  • The latest trends in communications, strategies and tactics in media.

This is a must-attend event for professionals of all levels!  A program you won't want to miss!

Featured Panelists:

Patti Epler
Editor & General Manager

Honolulu Civil Beat
A reporter and editor for more than 30 years, Patti joined Civil Beat in 2011. She's won numerous awards for her work, including two Pulitzer Prize-winning projects.

Will McGough
Publisher & Editor

Wake and Wander Hawaii
In an effort to recapture the imagination and spirit of storytelling, Will launched the new monthly travel print publication, Wake and Wander Hawaii, which delivers personal, experiential travel stories to both locals and visitors to Hawaii. A free monthly publication, Wake and Wander Hawaii aims to deliver personal, experiential travel stories to both locals and visitors to Hawaii. It combines magazine-style storytelling with the casual accessibility of a small newspaper. The publication covers the Hawaiian Islands in the form of travel, culture, food, drink, and people, as well as continental U.S. and international destinations, many within a nonstop flight from Honolulu. In the face of digital media, decreasing attention span, and list-driven online content, McGough hopes to recapture the imagination and spirit of storytelling.

Chanel Moke Puha
Executive Producer
Currently Chanel oversees the morning news, "Wake Up 2day," and the lifestyle show, "Living808,” which she launched. She has continued to evolve both programs, creating newsworthy "watchable" segments on Wake Up 2day and has played a key role in securing and sustaining advertorial segments for Living808. Her duties include writing and editing video for broadcast, editing reporter scripts,  live news feeds and breaking news. She also supports election coverage, special segments and 30 minute specials.
