Nathan Kam

Nathan has been immersed in public relations for Hawaii's travel and tourism industry the past decade, highlighted by his work on some of the state's top destination marketing campaigns and leading a team that has brought in several popular national TV shows, including Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and TOP CHEF.

A vice president at McNeil Wilson Communications - a division of Anthology Marketing Group, Hawaii's largest full-service integrated marketing company - Nathan's primary responsibility is managing the firm's PR activities for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, the state's marketing agency for North America.

In nine-plus years at McNeil Wilson, Nathan has developed a deep understanding about tourism - Hawaii's #1 industry - having also serviced the PR needs of the Kauai Visitors Bureau, Marriott Resorts Hawaii, Prince Resorts Hawaii, Wyland Waikiki, Ala Moana Hotel, and King's Village.

He is actively involved in the workings of McNeil Wilson, exploring and implementing emerging media opportunities, coordinating professional staff development and growth opportunities, overseeing the firm's internship program, and monitoring industry trends affecting Hawaii, business, marketing, communications, and tourism.

Nathan is the 2010 president-elect of the Public Relations Society of America - Hawaii Chapter, has served on its Board of Directors the past four years as membership and sponsorship chair, and been an active member since 1999.

He is also serving as public relations chair for the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii's 2009 Celebration of Leadership and Achievement Dinner, an annual event honoring Japanese American business leaders throughout the state.

Nathan is a proud graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism/public relations in 1999. When he's not working (which isn't very often), he enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, reading, traveling, cooking, and exploring the social mediasphere.
